<p>The Somali Cardiac Society successfully held the 1st National Cardiac Conference on 30 October 2025 at Afrik Hotel in Mogadishu. The historic conference brought together more than 170 participants, including cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, physicians, researchers, healthcare leaders and representatives from hospitals, universities and partner organizations. The conference featured scientific presentations and professional discussions addressing cardiovascular prevention, diagnosis, treatment, research and the development of cardiac services in Somalia. A major highlight of the conference was the launch of the Draft of National Hypertension Guideline, an important step towards standardizing hypertension prevention, diagnosis and management across the country. Participants emphasized the need to strengthen cardiovascular education, expand diagnostic services, improve referral pathways and promote collaboration among healthcare institutions. The conference also increased public awareness of cardiovascular disease and the importance of prevention and early detection. The event provided an important platform for professional networking and laid the foundation for future collaboration in cardiovascular research, clinical training and national health policy.
