The Somali Cardiac Society, Somali Medical Association and Somali Pediatric Association organized a Continuing Medical Education program as part of World Congenital Heart Disease Week. Held at Nova Hall, the program addressed three important areas of congenital cardiovascular care: Congenital heart disease in daily practice: recognition and diagnostic pathways. Indications and timing of surgical management in congenital heart disease. Outcomes of congenital cardiac surgery and its impact on patients’ lives. The scientific sessions were delivered by Dr. Ali Dawed Mohamed, Consultant Interventional Pediatric Cardiologist; Dr. Ilyas Mohamed, Cardiothoracic Surgeon; and Dr. Abdinafic Mohamud Hussein, Cardiovascular Surgeon. The program strengthened collaboration among cardiologists, pediatric specialists and cardiac surgeons and promoted earlier recognition and appropriate referral of children with congenital heart disease.
